WHY THE PRO RACEBOARD RANGE

With the BalsaFlex technology being used successfully for surfboards for over 20 years and now for SUP boards for over 4 it was only a question of time when a few people approached us to make race boards. The strength and weight saving the balsa sandwich provides is on another level and for these boards it was the ultimate test.

We set ourselves a pretty tough goal, basically to make the best SUP race boards on the market. For that we invited Legend Kelly Margetts to come and take care of it with us. He then brought over Marcus Tardrew who has had years of experience with modern race shapes and development. Finally James Casey was supposed to join Kelly on the battlefield to show off and prove these boards in contests as what they are:

ABOUT THE BOARD

01 GENERAL GOAL/THEME OF THE BOARD

A board originally designed for Kelly Margetts 2017 Carolina race. Kelly travelled with this one board only for a month racing around the USA with such good results and an amazing response from paddlers that we had to add it to the FAAST range.

Basically an all round board thats designed as a “take anywhere board” if your not sure of the conditions you will get.

An all round board that paddles faast in any condition wether its flat, side wind or downwind.

05 WHAT YOU THOUGHT OF WHEN YOU DESIGNED IT?

As mentioned above it was designed for Carolina Cup. A race that starts in the ocean but then is a grind in the flat before returning to the ocean and you never know what the ocean will be like on the day. We tested it for months in everything and it failed to disappoint. Requirements when designing was that it had to be stable for long distance, easy to ride bumps and control in general ocean conditions but also be competitive in the flat.

06 WHAT IT POSSIBLY COMPROMISES ON THEN?

Not an ideal board for racing with a lot of kick turns. Look to the ALLROUND FAAST for a bop style board.

The out line is similar to the OCEAN FAAST, but with a slightly more pulled in nose to help with glide and upwind..
